There is this really beautiful spot off South Boulder Rd, an old barn in front of a crazy gorgeous view of the mountains. I have been meaning to head up there to take photos forever and a few days ago me and my little sister Alysia decided it was time. It had begun to rain on the way there, boo. But, I live in Boulder, CO and the saying is "If you don't like the weather, wait five minutes." And so, by the time we were done with our 8 minute drive the rain had let up.
Sadly the gray sky was hiding the fantastic view, but it was still pretty, so Alysia snapped away while I did my usual "strike a poses." Half way through the session it had begun to drizzle, so we hurried along, and then a moment later it was pouring. I mean buckets of water were coming down on us. Naturally my first instinct was to protect my camera, in the process of yanking it off my poor little sisters neck I managed to hit her in the head with it, haha. Well, she was a trooper anyway and stuck in her shirt as we ran toward the car. We were hysterically laughing the whole way because my dress was tight enough around my knees that I couldn't take very large steps and because I was wearing pretty high flat-forms I was taking ridiculous small tip toe steps as quickly as possible while holding on to Alysia. I am sure I looked like the most prissy person on the planet, by the time we got to the car we were drenched.
When I got home and looked through the photos I realized that my ISO was way too high and there was a water mark on at least half of the images. Needless to say things did not go as planned. I thought about scrapping them all together and going back for a do over on a clearer day, but Alysia and I laughed a lot during the session and it made me sad to delete the images that went along with that memory. So here they are!

Love these. (Gorgeous dress by the way.) Sometimes the funny memories of a situation is better than if it had gone perfectly!
